Asiahorse FS 9002 Review
Introduction
Asiahorse is one of few Amazon-exclusive companies offering well-performing fans at a highly competitive price. Let's take a closer look at their FS-9002 and see how well it performs!
Positive
- Affordable
- Acceptable Performance
- Surprisingly Quiet
Neutral
- Proprietary Cables
Negative
- Controlling using remote can be fiddly
What's in the Box?
Asiahorse's FS-9002 Set of fans comes in a designed, yet highly generic carton box. While featuring a few "Asiahorse" logos and Texts spread across the whole box, there is nothing informing, or even suggesting what the box actually contains. Funnily enough, there is not a single use of the model name "FS 9002" on anything.
Once every item is unboxed, we will be left with the following:
- 3x Asiahorse FS-9002
- Controller
- Remote
- Screws
- Fan Installation Guide

Installation
In order to Install a set of Asiahorse FS-9002, we will need to make use of the provided controller.
In total, the controller provides connectivity to up to 10 Fans using a proprietary port.
After positing each fan in its planned spot and fixing it by using the provided screws, we can connect it to the controller using one of the ports on the controller's long sides.
The last step requires providing power to the Controller. For this we will find a Controller-SATA Power cable in the box that needs to be connected to, you guessed it, the Controller on one side, and one of your PSU's SATA Connectors on the other.
From there, we can decide if we want to use the controller by using the included remote, or if our motherboard should take care of the job.
In order to use Software control, we will need to connect the provided Controller-PWM and Controller-3Pin ARGB cables to the connector and the respective headers on the motherboard. To activate Software control, we need to triple-press the "W" button.
Appearance
Considering the Fans price, the RGB implementation, and therefore their Design, was one of the features that was very well received.
The Fans are covered in 3 Rings, one in the Front, Center, and Back, that are omitting the RGB Lights provided, or passed through, the controller. These 3 Rings and their position allow the RGB to be seeable from every side, making the fans look good from both the Front and the Back, something that is usually reserved for much more expensive fans.
Additionally, there is a small Asiahorse-logo cutout on one of the Fan's sides that can also glow in whatever color you've chosen.
Benchmark
While performing our usual Benchmark and letting the Light Wings spin at 100% Fan speed, they were able to keep the 3700x at 59°C.
This places them 4 degrees ahead of the much more established S12A and F12. A surprisingly good result considering the price.
Comparing the FS-9002's Noise-Normalized performance to other fans we can see the same "solid Mid-Range" pattern. While the fans did not reveal any outstanding Max-Performance, they did manage to keep everything on a mid-range level while maintaining a mid-range level of noise.
Conclusion
Considering every aspect, the perfect word to describe Asiahorse's FS-9002 set of fans would be "Solid Mid Range". Their performance perfectly fits into a solid mid-range Case Fan range.
Their noise and therefore Noise-Performance perfectly fits into the center of all of our fans.
Their design and build quality can also be perfectly described as "mid-range", the RGB is solid, but not outstanding.
The only aspect which can not be considered mid-range is price. While the 3-Pack costs around 30$, and a 5-Pack around 50$, a single Asiahorse FS-9002 would be around 10$.
Although Fans like Arctic P/F12's are available at a more affordable price, the FS-9002's RGB makes the difference.
Considering our complete list of fans, there is not a single 120mm RGB Fan available at such an affordable price. The closest contestant would be the Arctic P12 ARGB at around 16$.
That being said, with the Asiahorse FS-9002 maintaining an acceptable level of Performance for a set of case fans, a solid Noise-to-Performance ratio, and an excellent Price-to-Performance ratio, we can only recommend the fans!
