Xilence XC061 / M705D Review
Introduction
Xilence being an underdog in the CPU cooling community already managed to chock us before. Now we will see how their air-cooling game is with the new XC061 / M705D, can it shock us once again?
Positive
- Excellent Performance
- Excellent Price

What's in the Box?
An XC061 / M705D comes in an average Xilence box like most other Xilence's coolers before. Additionally to the usual imagery, the box is covered with a couple of labels, information, and spec sheets.
Once everything is completely unboxed, we will be left with the following items:
- Xilence XC061 / M705D Heatsink +2x pre-attached fans
- Installation Material Intel/AMD
- Thermal Paste
- 2-1 PWM Splitter
Below we summarized the most important specs:

Compatibility
The M705D being a new cooler released in 2022, it already comes with support for the newest LGA sockets available. Down below you will find a full compatibility list:
Intel | AMD |
LGA 1700 | AM4 |
LGA 115x | |
LGA 1200 | |
LGA 2011 | |
LGA 2066 |
Individual Components
Heatsink
With 5 copper black-colored heat pipes, the M705D's heatsink transports all of that heat up from the direct-touch copper base up the 150mm high heatsink.
The complete heatsink is covered in black paint. The only exception to this is the top plate which got a white Xilence logo.
Thanks to the very thin heatsink, even while paired with 2x 25mm thick fans, the M705D does not protrude over any Ram slots, making the M705D a 100% Ram compatible cooler.
Fans
Unfortunately, there is not much known about the fans used on the XC061 / M705D.
Based on the spec sheet, the Fans are spinning at up to 1600RPM, but that's all the information available.
The Fan(s) are connectable using a 4-pin PWM header. Thankfully Xilence includes a 1-2 PWM splitter with the cooler allowing us to use both Fans on a single header. However, we would have preferred a daisy-chaining system.
Appearance
From a design standpoint, the M705D perfectly hits our spot. As we tend to go for simplistic-looking coolers, the M705D managed to score several of our points.
Thanks to the lack of any RGB, or color as a whole, the M705D appears to be extremely "raw". The only outstanding feature of the cooler are the three white Xilence crosses which are distributed across both fans and the top plate of the heatsink.
A cooler with this color scheme generally tends to be very easily integrated into any build and it doesn't stand out in any particular way, creating a very simplistic overall look. Just be prepared that RGB is absolutely not a thing on here. The XC061 is a back-to-the-roots cooler.
Benchmark
We benchmarked the Xilence XC061 / M705D on our usual testbench using a Ryzen 3900x.
At full speed, the undisclosed fans managed to keep the 3900x at 49°C, an exceptionally good result.
While comparing the XC061 to other similarly sized coolers on our noise-to-performance graph we can see that the XC061 did not need to brute-force its way up the benchmark charts.
Positioned just minimally behind the Noctua NH-U12A, the XC061 managed to outperform the Freezer 34 eSports Duo with quite the margin.
Conclusion
If there is one cooler we reviewed this year that definitely deserves some public attention, it is Xilence's XC061.
Not only did it manage to come extremely close to the Noctua NH-U12A, but it also managed to outperform the Arctic Freezer 34 eSports Duo.
But there is more! Additionally, to its incredibly surprising performance-to-noise ratio, the XC061 is also very competitively priced. At around 35€ the Xilence XC061 / M705D manages to keep the price below Arctic's Freezer 34 eSports Duo, a cooler that for now was considered to be the price-to-performance champion.
Thanks to the XC061's excellent cooling performance paired with its price, however, Arctic just got kicked off its throne and Xilence is now the raining champion of the Price-to-Performance category.
Due to the XC061's outstanding performance, price-to-performance, and noise-to-performance, we can only recommend this cooler for basically any usage with a consumer-grade CPU.
